Logan Street School 125th Anniversary Celebration

The Logan Street School 125th Anniversary Celebration, what a wonderful way to celebrate our local public school!

Yoon Jung and I were able to catch the tail end of the Logan Street School 125th Anniversary Celebration. We were happy to see generations of Echo Parque residents who were able to reflect on their years at our local public school. The festive event saw local dignitaries and Neighborhood Council members in attendance. What a wonderful way to celebrate an integral part of our community!

We wanted to include our photos with those of J. F., whose galleries are posted under Great Time at Logan st. and Great Time at Logan st.II Local educator Cheryl Ortega posted the following comments under those galleries that bears reproduction here:

"The 125th at Logan was great. Parents, students, former teachers, some alumni from the 1940's. But what is most essential to keep in mind is that Logan, a public school, has educated generations of Echo Park children, natives and immigrants, English-speaking and those learning English, respecting the diverse cultures of families that have made their homes in our community. It's a public school that serves all children, those with children with disabilities, those who have behavior issues, all children. It turns away no one. It does what public schools are supposed to do; it educates the public. And it welcomes parents to participate in decision-making bodies that can influence their child's education."
