Several members of Northeast LA Residents for Clean Air will present six requests during public comment at the beginning of the Metrolink Board meeting calling for Metrolink to reduce pollution and noise generated by their Taylor Yard Maintenance Facility at 1555 San Fernando Road in Cypress Park. Community leaders insist that Metrolink fund a Health Risk Assessment as a baseline measure to identify existing conditions and promote the development of viable risk reduction strategies to reduce negative health impacts the facility has on the families in Northeast Los Angeles
In the past year, the Northeast LA Residents for Clean Air has met with the CEO of Metrolink to urge the agency to reduce pollution and noise at their Taylor Yard Maintenance Facility. Nearly 200 residents attended two community meetings in January and July 2012 to insist that Metrolink take action to ensure the health and quality of life of children, youth and families in the Northeast communities that surround the facility.
