The Echo Park Lake Rehabilitation Project issued the following update Tuesday:
The Echo Park Lake Rehabilitation Project is 50 percent complete, and is on schedule to be completed in spring 2013.
Construction of retaining walls around the lake is 75 percent complete. Work on the island edging continues.
Pipe work continues with the installation of the force main, the recirculation pipes, and the new fountain pipes.
The installation of the lake bed liner will soon begin in the northeast and northwest areas of the lake.
The Project also noted that Echo Park Avenue between Park and Bellevue avenues will be closed on Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. for street cleaning.
