Water Back on in Historic Filipinotown After Main Break

About 60 homes in Hi-Fi were without water for almost twelve hours Tuesday.

Workers from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power have restored service to about 60 customers in Historic Filipinotown who went without water for about twelve hours Tuesday.

Gail Harris, PIO for the LADWP, told Echo Park Patch that an 8-inch main broke early Tuesday morning.

Service was restored at 3:08 p.m.

Residents in the area were told by LADWP workers on site that repairs could take four to eight hours. 

But, according to a LADWP official, things took a little longer as permissions from water and cable had to be secured before the work began.
