According to a Rampart Division report, the  shooting occurred around 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the 1600 Block of Court Street.  The victim was leaving his mother’s house when he saw a dark gray or silver Toyota or Infiniti drive slowly by, going west.

The passenger window opened, and a man—between 20 and 25 years old—wearing a blue hat and gray sweater fired between 10 and 12 shots from a handgun.  The report says the man dove to the ground and was not hit.

The car sped away. Officers checked the area but could not find the car. They did discover expended casings, which may be analyzed to see if they match other casings on file.

According to LAPD Lt. Wes Buhrmester at Rampart, officers will also walk the neighborhood to see if the car turns up.

"Surprisingly, suspects often frequent the area of their crimes, and it would not be a first if that vehicle is seen in the vicinity," said Buhrmester.
