Body Found Near 2 Freeway May Be Young Mother Missing Since Dec. 26

Police are waiting for the coroner to release the name and cause of death, but a family friend told the media that it is Bree'anaa Guzman, who lived in Lincoln Heights.

Now some media outlets, including CBS2/KCAL9, are suggesting that it is Bree'anna Guzman, a 22-year-old mother of two.

An LAPD spokesman would not confirm the CBS2/KCAL9 report that it was Guzman. 

According to City News Service, LAPD Robbery and Homicide division is waiting for the coroner to announce the name of the victim and cause of death.

Guzman disappeared the day after Christmas on the way to the drugstore.

Family and friends have been gathering daily outside the apartment building where she lived, and, according to one, were convinced Guzman died after foul play.

About 30 of them also gathered Thursday at the crime scene, according to KNBC, and continued their vigil Thursday night outside the building where Guzman lived.

Meantime local residents were on edge, given the site's close proximity to Allesandro Elementary School, across the street on Riverside Drive.
