Three people were shot and brought to local hospitals with injuries after a residence at 517 N. Harvard Blvd. broke into flames.

One is an approximately 34-year-old man and two others are approximately 38-year-old women. All are being treated for apparent gunshot wounds at the hospital. According to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Matt Spence, their condition is not known.

Incident Began Just Before 1 O'Clock

Emergency personnel were sent to the site just before 1 p.m.

They were limited to fighting the blaze from a distance since the possible shooter's location was not known.

According to Spence, 150 firefighters were fighting the blaze at peak, under joint LAPD-LAFD command.

ABC7 said that at one point a young man showed up during the fire and said he lived in the home with five roommates.

He had raced over from L.A. City College after receiving a text from a friend.
