Three Injured in Crash on 110 Freeway Near Elysian Park

The Los Angeles Fire Department sent about 30 firefighters to respond to the crash, which shut down the northbound lanes on the 110.

Three women were injured, two of them critically, after their vehicle crashed into a K-rail near where the Golden State and the northbound 110 freeways meet around the Elysian Park area, according to Erik Scott, spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Scott said about 30 firefighters were sent to the crash, which occurred shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday morning and snarled northbound traffic on the 110. City News Service reported that due to the stopped traffic, fire trucks entered the freeway at Avenue 26 at Figueroa Street and drove the wrong direction on the northbound freeway.

An off-duty LA firefighter was the first on-scene to administer treatment, Scott said.
