Choppers have been circling the area sometimes called "the Maltman Hills" since before 5:00 p.m.
Police say they're trying to talk a man out of a house in the 800 block of Kodak Drive.
Police lines extend along Marathon from Tularosa to Maltman Avenue.
According to one officer they've tried to call the man by phone several times by cellphone, with no luck.
At least ten police cars are on the scene, as well as the LAPD chopper.
A Rampart division seargent we contacted says the activity is "related to a domestic issue."
Officers on the scene say Rampart responded after they received a call from family members.
