Sonar Used to Recover Body of Drowned Man in MacArthur Park Thursday

City Lifeguards, police and firefighters collaborated in the four-hour search.

 

Sonar technology helped Los Angeles Fire Department divers locate the body of an approximately 30-year-old man Thursday in MacArthur Park lake.

The search brought together city lifeguards, LAPD and LAFD personnel and lasted four hours.

According to an LAFD alert, the man was initially reported to be swimming in the lake.

The cause is under investigation by the LAPD and the Los Angeles County Coroner's office, according to the alert.
