Police are again asking for the public's help in the apprehension of a man who is believed to have sexually assaulted a hiker in Elysian Park on October 31.
The LAPD Northeast Division officers who are handling the investigation released the accompanying sketch of the suspect last week.
According to Officer Juarez the investigators have pursued numerous leads and are still actively seeking the suspect.
She also said both LAPD and the Department of General Services have beefed up patrols in the area, although there are no longer any undercover officers on duty.
They had been posted there over the last several weeks in hopes the suspect might "reappear," as he was apparently recognized by the hiker.
