The six incidents included what officers called a "strongarm robbery" early the morning of June 12 near the intersection of Descanso and Tularosa drives in the Maltman Hills south of Sunset Boulevard.

According to the summary of a crime report provided by Lt. Wesley Buhrmeister of LAPD's Rampart Division, two women were walking west on Descanso Drive near Tularosa Drive just after 1 a.m.

Tularosa becomes narrow and almost like a back alley there as it intersects Descano Drive just above a vacant lot.

The women were near tackled from behind by "two heavy-set adult males, wearing dark hooded sweatshirts."

The two men stole their purses, leaving them with skinned knees.

The women ran west to Maltman Avenue and called for help.

No suspects, evidence or recovered property have been found, according to Buhrmeister.

The two other robberies also occurred last week on the other side of Sunset--both on June 10, both in daylight.

One was at Bates Avenue and Effie Street in the afternoon; the other was at Myra Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard in the morning.

Robbery is defined as taking or attempting to take anything of value from the care, custody or control of a person or persons by force or threat of force or violence and/or by putting the victim in fear.
