Rolling Stones Shake Up Saturday Night in Echo Park [Photos]

The greatest rock and roll band in the world brings celebrities and heightened security to the 1800 block of Sunset Boulevard for a last-minute show.

ECHO PARK, CA -- The greatest rock and roll band in the world came to Echo Park Saturday and much of the show happened outside the venue.

Streets and restaurants around the Echoplex were crawling with security, medics, and media trucks, as well as people who both did and did not get into the Rollings Stones' surprise appearance.

Paparazzi and fans gathered on Glendale Boulevard at the VIP entrance caught Gwen Stefani, Bruce Willis, Johnny Depp, Skrillex, Mark Harmon, James Woods and others who leaped out of limos to check in there.

Regular folks who had won entry wristbands lined up along Sunset Boulevard in the special barriers set up to handle the crowd.

Those who somehow still hoped to get tickets formed their own line too, though security eventually encouraged them to leave.

They settled in nearby restaurants like Two Boots pizza, monitoring Facebook page, YouTube and Instagram for video and images from the show.

Local residents were among them, including design student Andrea Gonzalez, who had lived her whole life in Echo Park and said she'd never seen anything like this here.

Was it good for the neighborhood she had seen change so much already?

"Absolutely," she said. "It's the Rolling Stones."
