Residents Given Rude Awakening in Early-Morning Crash
Car goes flying through gas station, nicks several gas pumps and slams into wrought iron fence, finally coming to a rest on its side.
Drunk driving was ruled out as a factor after a vehicle sped through a gas station, leaving debris and gasoline strewn across the station and rattled the nerves of many neighbors.
The accident was reported at 1:30 a.m. at Echo Fuels (formerly known as Magic Gas, 1600 Echo park Avenue, according to the theeastsiderla.com. Residents reported hearing several large booms, rushed from their homes and found a silver Volkswagen perched on its side.
“I thought a plane had crashed,” said Mariel Garza, who left her home and came down to the corner gas station after hearing the booms.

The female driver was taken to a nearby hospital and was treated for her injuries.
