Rampart Report: 2 Vehicles Stolen in 12 Hours, One Burglarized

The latest crime map from the division shows a total of 3 auto crimes in a 15-hour period in Echo Park and Silver Lake.

Two vehicles have been reported stolen just off Sunset Boulevard in the last day or so.

The first grand theft auto happened at 743 Parkman Avenue in Silver Lake near Sunset Boulevard between 11 a.m. and 12:45 p.m on Wednesday, March 13.

A 1989 Toyota truck was taken.

Parkman is adjacent to numerous bars and restaurants and is also near the 101 Freeway.

The second incident took place at the corner of Alvarado Street and Sunset Boulevard at 1:55 a.m. Thursday.

A 2003 model Hyundai car was taken.

There was also a car breakin just fifteen minutes later on Lemoyne Street in Echo Park.

It has been quiet for major crime activity in the heart of Echo Park and Silver Lake of late.

Rampart's Special Problems Unit has recently stepped up its presence near the division's Sunset Boulevard border with Northeast in Echo Park and Silver Lake.

The same stretch of Parkman where the truck was stolen was where a scooter was recently stolen from a garage.

It was recovered by officers in Angeleno Heights after they spotted a thief riding it.
