Police took five men into custody early Friday evening after a short foot pursuit.
According to Lt. Wesley Buhrmeister of LAPD's Rampart Divisioni, officers stopped the driver and his four passengers, believing that the car being driven may have been stolen.
The men men fled and crashed the car, then taking off on foot.
They were apprehended near Belmont Avenue and Clinton Street the scene of the crash.
According to the Eastsider LA, a section of Glendale Bouelvard-as well as Alvarado,Temple and Bellevue--were sealed off during the search, creating a traffic jam in the area that will play host to the much anticipated community festival on Saturday.
The men were brought to the Rampart Division headquarters Friday evening for possible charges and booking .
