The first Original Tommy's location at Rampart and Beverly boulevards in Historic Filipinotown has figured in many real life police dramas.
A favorite burger stop for generations of LAPD officers and hipsters, it was for many years just around the corner from the Rampart Station.
That's now moved to Wilshire Boulevard, deep in the Westlake district.
But cops still stop by--as do filmmakers hoping to capture a slice of Los Angeles cop life.
Wednesday the police drama "Southland" stopped by for a bit of filming.

By 4 p.m. everything cleared.
According to our recollection the last film that featured Tommy's was last year's ill-fated Rampart with Woody Harrelson.
