Pedestrian Hit Wednesday Morning on Echo Park Avenue

The man was taken to Los Angeles County Hospital with injuries after a car hit him as he crossed east at Echo Park and Lucretia avenues.

A man was hit by a car as he crossed Echo Park Avenue Wednesday morning.

The man was taken to Los Angeles County Hospital with injuries, though an officer on the scene said he would probably be okay.

The vehicle that struck him had a broken left front windshield and also damage to its left front fender and side.

Drivers were routed around the stretch of Echo Park Avenue between Lucretia Avenue and Effie Street as officers spoke with neighbors and examined the vehicle, which remained on the scene.

Residents along Echo Park Avenue said the man may have been returning after he crossed over the street to a nearby convenience store to buy some cigarettes.
