Man Shot in Face in Eagle Rock Friday Likely to Survive

Suspect shot the victim in a parked car and fled on foot.

A man aged about 40 years was shot in the face on Colorado Boulevard east of the Figueroa Street crossing Friday afternoon while he was seated in a parked car.

“We’re informed that he is going to survive the shooting,” said Lt. Rick Stabile, the watch commander at the LAPD Northeast Community Station, who described the victim as Hispanic.

The suspect, a male, approached the victim’s parked car on foot and fled on foot, Stabille said, adding that the LAPD got several calls from witnesses about the shooting, which occurred around 12:50 p.m.

On Sunday, Juan David Vasquez Loma was shot in the head in Silver Lake on Silver Lake Boulevard at 5:08 a.m. in what detectives have described as a possible road rage incident.

The suspect fled in a green Toyota or Honda.

Juan David was declared brain-dead on Tuesday, but remains on life support.
