LAPD Still Won't Release New Giovanni Ramirez Mugshot

But it says media are now free to publish the photo leaked earlier this week from Ramirez's parole file.

Some Los Angeles media including KCBS-KCAL have now gone public with the photo leaked earlier this week of Giovanni Ramirez.

You can see it in the accompanying gallery, along with the composite created by the LAPD.

KTLA had briefly published the image Monday, but took it down at the LAPD's request.

The offending photo came from Ramirez's parole file. It is from a previous conviction. The LAPD told Echo Park Patch Friday that it has no current plans to release Ramirez's latest booking photo.

Ramirez, 31, of course, is the suspect in the Bryan Stow beating still in police custody.

He has not yet been arraigned, but police say publishing the photo will no longer compromise their investigation.

A lineup was conducted Wednesday and afterwards LAPD Chief Charlie Beck said Ramirez "is, and was, and has been our primary suspect [in] the Stow beating."

It's still not known when and if Ramirez will be arraigned, though he is set to be in court next week on a hearing related to a parole violation.

Ramirez 's lawyer said the suspect's daughter is willing to testify that he was at home on March 31 when the beating occurred.
