LAPD Searches For Missing ICE Agent In The Silver Lake Area

The search took place near the Hollywood (101) Freeway and Silver Lake Boulevard.

Update 8/15/13 8:08 a.m.:

An Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agent who was the subject of a Los Angeles Police Department missing persons investigation was located tonight and is safe.

The agent, who is assigned to ICE's Enforcement and Removal Operations Division, is believed to have been picked up by a fellow employee after his vehicle broke down on a local freeway overnight, Virginia Kice of ICE said.

LAPD officers and ICE agents had been searching the area of the Hollywood (101) Freeway and Silver Lake Boulevard for the agent, according to LAPD Officer Sara Faden, who said the agent had been located and was safe.

A search was underway tonight in the Silver Lake district for an Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agent.

Los Angeles Police Department officers and ICE agents were searching the area of the Hollywood (101) Freeway and Silver Lake Boulevard for the agent, assigned to the Enforcement and Removal Operations Division, "who may have gone missing," said LAPD Officer Sara Faden.

The search in the area began shortly after 6:30 p.m. Faden said. The California Highway Patrol reported that the far right lane of the northbound Hollywood Freeway was closed just south of Vermont Avenue along with the Silver Lake Boulevard on-ramp to the freeway.
