LAPD Officer Pleads Not Guilty in Internet Drug Bust Case

A Los Angeles police officer pleaded not guilty today to charges that he offered to furnish hydrocodone to an undercover LAPD detective on a classified ad website.
Randolph Agard, 40, is charged with one felony count each of sale/transportation/offer to sell a controlled substance and possession for sale of a controlled substance.
Agard allegedly responded in April to an advertisement placed by the LAPD's Northeast Narcotic Enforcement Detail that sought drugs as part of an undercover operation, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

LAPD narcotics officers allegedly recovered 20 hydrocodone pills from Agard's jacket pocket when he arrived April 23 at a pre-arranged meeting place and was arrested.
Agard is free on his own recognizance and is due back in Los Angeles Superior Court on July 17, when a date is scheduled to be set for a hearing to determine if there is enough evidence to require him to stand trial.
