LAPD Looking for Suspects After Giants Fan Roughed Up On Opening Day

LAPD's Northeast Division is asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the arrest of two suspects who injured a 41-year-old man Thursday night.

According to the LAPD's Northeast division, most fans kept their cool Thursday during Opening Day despite the heat.  But two young Dodger fans leaving the stadium after their team defeated the Giants 2-1 couldn't quite keep it together.

Just before 8:30 p.m. they began taunting several Giants fans.  The group tried to walk away, but one of them was hit from behind and fell to the ground. The suspects then kicked the 41-year-old victim, striking out at the victims' friends who tried to intervene.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and was treated for a head injury. He is in critical but stable condition. The other victims were treated for minor injuries and released at the scene.

The suspects are described as two male Hispanics between 18 and 25 years old.

Anyone with information on this crime is urged to call Northeast Detectives L. Burcher or P.J. Morris at (213) 847-4261. During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7.

Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477). Tipsters may also contact Crimestoppers by texting to phone number 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S on most keypads) with a cell phone. All text messages should begin with the letters “LAPD.” Tipsters may also go to LAPDOnline.org, click on "webtips" and follow the prompts.

I think it is time for the LA Dodgers to add to the $10,000 dollar reward being offered by Supervisor Antonovich for the capture of these two low-life suspects who beat, not roughed up, a Giants Fan. An additional $ 25,000 dollars would not be to much to ask for the Dodgers to add on to the reward. That's 2,500 beers @ 10 dollars. I am sure they sell that much beer in an hour.

Actually Jose the reward is now up to $25,000 with contributions from the San Francisco Giants and American Medical Response. Giants put in $10,000.
