LAFD Wins 'Best Blog'
The website was honored by the International Association of Firefighters.
Just Saturday--with the house fire in Silver Lake--we were again reminded about the great work our Los Angeles City Firefighters do on the ground.
Well, they're rocking it in the blogosphere too.
The International Association of Firefighters (IAFF) has recognized them as "Best Blog" in their 2011 Media Awards.

According to a news release from the LAFD, the blog is staffed 24-7 by three firefighters:

The blog is overseen by longtime PSO Brian Humphrey, who is largely responsible for the development of the LAFD BLOG, says “We truly appreciate not only the help we are provided, but all that is done on a daily basis by our entire staff.”
LAFD also has a couple of pretty great Twitter feeds, that we follow regularly: @LAFD, @LAFDTalk and @LAFDFireChief.
LAFD blog was nominated by the United Firefighters of Los Angeles City, Local 112.
