Hit and Run Driver Leaves Scene on 10 Freeway
The two-vehicle collision was reported at 6:18 a.m. on the westbound 10 Freeway's offramp to Western Avenue.
A hit and run driver left a dying motorist behind following a a two-vehicle crash on the Santa Monica (10) Freeway west of the Civic Center today.
The two-vehicle collision was reported at 6:18 a.m. on the westbound 10 Freeway's offramp to Western Avenue. The first call to CHP came from Los Angeles firefighters, who said they needed to close the offramp to extricate a victim from a collision.
The dead person was initially described as a male, said CHP Officer Tony Polizzi. The coroner's office was called to remove the remains and positively identify the victim.
