Updated: Seven Injured in Area Crash Invovling Unmarked LAPD Vehicle

The conditions of the injured people were not immediately known.

A collision involving a Los Angeles Police Department car and an SUV in the Glassel Park area today left seven people injured, including four officers, authorities said.

The crash was reported at Fletcher Drive and San Fernando Road about 8:45 a.m., LAPD Officer Rosario Herrera said.

The conditions of the officers were not immediately known. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, seven patients were transported for hospital treatment, four in serious condition and three in fair condition.

According to the preliminary investigation, the officers were in an unmarked Ford Crown Victoria and were on a backup call with the car's lights and siren activated when it collided with the SUV, which was traveling at "high speed," Herrera said.
