Firefighters Take Down Grass Flames Near Dodger Stadium

About a quarter-acre of grass caught fire near the area of the southbound 110 Freeway and Stadium Way, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

About 19 firefighters and a water-dropping chopper took less than 30 minutes to extinguish a quarter-acre of grass that caught fire and started rolling uphill near the southbound 110 Freeway and Stadium Way, according to an alert from the Los Angeles City Fire Department.

Spokesman Matt Spence said the slow-moving blaze and extinguishing took place at 5:48 p.m. Sunday evening, and that no structures were threatened. There were also no injuries reported.
