Few Details Available in Early-Morning Assault

Gun involved in assault, but no one reported shot.

Police have provided little details, even hours after a reported assault in Echo Park early this morning.

The assault was reported at 4 a.m. near Allesandro and Reservoir Streets, according to http://www.theeastsiderla.com. No victims were reported and no one was shot, according to authorities. Officers searched in vain for the suspect by ground and with the aid of a helicopter.

According to Lieutenant Mike Menza of the LAPD Northeast Division, officers are continuing to work on the assault case and could not provide any details.
