Sunset Boulevard east from Logan to Laveta Terace and Echo Park Avenue south from Scott to Park remained closed off, with cars detouring down Logan south.

Cars parked on the streets early in the morning remained locked inside too, with people returning from as far as Pasadena to recover them.

Investigators from the Los Angeles Police Department's Officer Involved Shooting unit were on the scene along as Rampart detectives.
