Arraignment Set for Bank Robbery Suspect
The Echo Park man accused of robbing a bank in La Cañada last June is expected to be arraigned in Los Angeles Superior Court in Pasadena Wednesday morning.
A judge determined earlier this month that there was enough evidence to send William Alexander, 47, to trial on one count of robbery, said Sgt. Ray Harley of the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department. Alexander's arraignment is slated for Wednesday morning in Department B.
Alexander is reported to have resided in the Echo Park area.
Harley said deputies arrested Alexander in Los Angeles on Oct. 7, four months after the robbery occurred at , 858 Foothill Blvd.

Harley has told the that Alexander passed a note to a teller on June 11 stating that he had a gun and demanding money. After receiving an undetermined amount of cash, Alexander walked westbound toward the old Sports Chalet building, when a dye pack exploded, Harley told the newspaper.
Alexander allegedly abandoned most of the money and fled in an SUV. No weapon was seen during the incident.
