Police are looking into the elements surrounding the Angeleno Heights shooting death of a man who was found sitting in a car with a single gunshot wound to his torso on Easter Sunday morning. The shooting was reported at 1:42 a.m. in the 1400 block of W. Kensington Road, according to authorities, and the man died in the hospital.
Lt. Wes Buhrmester of LAPD's Rampart Division said that detectives do not think that 21-year-old Etsael Cardenas was affiliated with any gangs, so they are not treating the incident as gang-related at this time.
"Residents heard gunshots, but they did not see the incident," Buhrmester said. "So right now, detectives are looking into who would harm him."
