The churning continues on the Whittier fault, where a swarm of quakes have been centered this past month.
This time a preliminary 4.1 quake distracted Echo Park and Silver Lake residents on a hot Wednesday afternoon at 1:31 p.m.
Centered about 2 miles northeast of Yorba Linda, the quake was followed by a 2.2 roller and another 1.5 quake soon after.
In Echo Park and environs, some missed the first quake entirely. Those who did described it as "more of a jolt, than a roll."
Immediately after the quake, Los Angeles City Fire Units around the city checked 106 locations for signs of damage.
According to City News Service, none was found, as well as no injuries.
