2 People, 2 Dogs Resuced from LA River

No injuries were reported.

Firefighters today rescued two people and two dogs from an island of shrubbery in the middle of the rain-swollen Los Angeles River near Cypress Park.

Rescuers were sent at 9:10 a.m. to the river near the 1500 block of Elm Street, Los Angeles police Officer Rosario Herrera said.

The rescue was accomplished in about an hour, and no injuries were reported, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
