Blog: Developer's Draft EIR for Barlow Hospital Site Available
The Master Plan for the Barlow Hospital project proposes very significant changes in the Silver Lake-Echo Park-Elysian Heights Community Plan area.
On June 20, 2011, the Echo Park Patch listed campaign contributions by Barlow's administrator and Barlow's CFO to Los Angeles City Council members.
The City Council may decide the outcome of Barlow's proposal to significantly alter the Silver Lake Echo Park Elysian Heights Community Plan.
Barlow Hospital submitted its draft EIR for its proposed land use changes. Eleven existing buildings on the project site would be retained.

The remainder of the site is to be subdivided into 13 parcels and redeveloped with 888 multi-family residential dwelling units totaling 1,065,600 square feet, approximately 150,000 square feet of “neighborhood serving” commercial uses, and 1,552 parking spaces. The build- out would or will total 1,211,115 square feet.

The City will hold a public hearing to take testimony on the Draft EIR on May 16. The meeting will take place at 4 p.m. in the West Hall, Meeting Room 501 of the Los Angeles Convention Center.
