Silver Lake Thespian Home After Heart Attack

Lee Boek founded the Public Works Improvisational Theater.

Lee Boek, 71, well known veteran of the Echo Park, Silver Lake and downtown arts scene and former prodigy child evangelist who used to tour the country for his fundamentalist church, is at home recuperating from a heart attack.

Boek, who was married to actress Marlene Rasnick for many years, famed as a co-founder with Dale Eunson of Public Works Improvisational Theater in 1974, has been a fixture and activist on the local scene for decades.

A former SEIU organizer, house painter and actor, Boek's home in Silver Lake, has been the scene of numerous Bohemian gatherings over the years.
