Spring Eggstravaganza Celebration in Northeast L.A. Draws Hundreds of Children [Photos]

Hundreds of children and their families turned out Thursday for the 2nd Annual Spring Eggstravaganza—the popular event put on each year by Assemblymember Jimmy Gomez (D-Los Angeles) and his staff in Northeast Los Angeles.

Families lined up early at the Boys and Girls Club in Lincoln Heights to participate. Children ages two to 10 took part in egg hunts and received custom gift baskets, while their parents discussed legislative issues with Assemblymember Gomez.

“Our 2nd Annual Eggstravaganza was huge success,” Assemblymember Gomez said. “We really cherish these opportunities to connect with our community, and were happy to see so many volunteers and families here.”

Gomez thanked his staff, the Los Angeles Boys and Girls Club and volunteers from Soledad Enrichment Action Charter, LA Conservation Corps, Lincoln Heights Tutorial Program and Cal State LA, as well as event sponsors.

“These are the kinds of occasions that strengthen our community, and we would not be able to make it happen without your support and collaboration.”
