'Mustache Dache' to Benefit Movember and Men's Health

The Mustache Dache will support Movember month and raise money for men's health initiatives.

Los Angeles' first ever "Mustache Dache" run will take place Sunday at Elysian Park to benefit the Movember charity.

Organizers said the run is meant to raise awareness and money for men's health initiatives, prostate cancer and testicular cancer by supporting the month long Movember event.

Leading off the race will be the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile at the starting line as runners take to the scenic streets through Elysian Park. Following the race, free beer will be offered from Sierra Nevada as well as free shaves in the "Made Man Movember Mo'asis Barbershop" Airstream trailer.

"We have a goal of raising $25,000 for Movember, and at the same time we wanted to make sure we partnered with great local businesses to produce a Dache to remember and make Los Angeles proud," said race director Ryan Moore.

Movember is a worldwide event aimed at raising money for men's health that encourages men to grow a mustache for the 30 days in November. In the U.S. alone, the event has raised more than $21 million in 2012.

Sunday's race begins at 9 a.m. in Elysian Park. For a full schedule and to sign up, visit the race's official website.
