Video: Golden Road President Wins Over Talk Show Host Steve Harvey

Meg Gill, possibly the youngest female to own a brewery in the world, appeared recently on Harvey's daily program.

Tony Yanow's craft beer empire extends from Echo Park's Mohawk Bend up into Burbank Tony's Darts.

Sitting somewhere in the middle, just off San Fernando Road in Atwater Village, is Golden Road Brewing, a popular stop for locals.

A Yale graduate and former competitive swimmer, Gill was recently invited to Chicago to appear on Steve Harvey's daily NBC talk show.

Harvey, a non-drinker, had never talked about beer on the show before.

By the end of the segment, he is charmed by Gill and her Golden Road brews, especially Golden Road's Get Up Offa That Brown ale.

"We need more women in beer," she tells him, as part of Harvey's ongoing segment on female groundbreakers.

"Follow your passion. Don't stop when people tell you 'no.'"

Gill blogged about the experience and how she used her background as an athlete to get through it.
