Kiven and DJ Caroline D'Amore Headline Roaring Nights, LA ZOO's Summer Music Series

Kiven,
the multi-faceted rock band described by Entertainment Weekly as “a remarkable
marriage of furious prog-metal and grooves,” and DJ Caroline D'Amore headline
the second of three dates in the Los Angeles Zoo's ROARING NIGHTS summer music
series on Friday, July 25, 2014, 7-10 pm, featuring DJ dance party, food
trucks, full-service bars, pop-up zookeeper talks, animal encounters and visits
to Zoo's new Rainforest Of The Americas plus other animal habitats.  Also part of Roaring Nights is a popular “Animal
Artistry Paint Party” at which guests can express their creativity by painting a
favorite animal (or whatever inspiration strikes them) on a small canvas to
take home as a souvenir. Complimentary
bicycle valet service provided by L.A. County Bicycle Coalition and plentiful
parking are available for the series, open to ages 18 and up. One more Roaring Nights evening takes place
with an all-different lineup on Friday, August 22. KCRW is the Roaring Nights
series Media Sponsor.

KIVEN,
the Los Angeles based rock quartet comprised of Tyler Demorest, Matt Cohen,
Danny Schnair and Jake Reed, released its self-titled album earlier this year.   Merging thick guitars and entrancing
harmonies, the record properly captures the group's heavy and hypnotic sound,
preserving its enigmatic intensity and ethereal spirit in the process.  Kiven, which appeared at SXSW 2014, has been
featured in the likes of Buzzbands LA, The Deli Magazine, Purevolume,
Entertainment Weekly, BMI, Alternative Press, LA Music Blog and more.  www.kivenmusic.com.

CAROLINE
D'AMORE, a DJ, actress, and model perhaps best known for her single "Music
Man" which reached the top of Japanese music charts, has paved a path
spinning at preeminent events around the world and was featured as opening act
for Will.I.Am at the MTV Music Awards in Tokyo.  She has released two back-to-back DJ albums
through Sony Music Entertainment.  Electronica
superstar DJ Tiesto made an impromptu guest appearance at Caroline’s Vegas
concert, and her expertise in the music scene quickly caught the attention of
the producers at E !, who cast her as Music Expert alongside Sebastian Bach,
Christina Milian, Pauly D and Terrence Jenkins on the hilarious "Sounding
Off."  She currently produces her
own electronic radio show on Skee247.com called Heartbeatz, which is syndicated
worldwide and features some of the hottest artists such as R3hab and Havanna
Brown, Carnage, 12th Planet, The Cataracs, T-mills, Starkillers, Paris Hilton
and many more.

The
Zoo's Roaring Nights series, which debuted in 2013 to large crowds and
attracted several thousand people at its June date, concludes on Friday, August
22, 7 to 10 pm, featuring We Are Twin as headliners, DJ V Money and a food
truck lineup of Baby’s Badass Burgers, Coolhaus, Lobsta Truck, Mandoline Grill,
Ragin Cajun and The Grilled Cheese Truck.

Roaring
Nights is presented by the landmark Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens, which draws
1.6 million visitors each year and is home to a diverse collection of 1,100
animals representing 250 different species, many of which are rare or
endangered.  Its lush grounds on 113
acres feature a botanical collection comprising over 800 different plant
species with approximately 7,000 individual plants.  Accredited by the Association of Zoos and
Aquariums (AZA), whose members meet rigorous professional standards for animal
welfare, the Zoo has achieved renown as an international leader in the
preservation of endangered species and a conservation center for the care and
study of wildlife.  Among its most
popular habitats are the LAIR (Living Amphibians, Invertebrates, and Reptiles),
Elephants of Asia, Campo Gorilla Reserve and Rainforest of the Americas.  The private, non-profit Greater Los Angeles
Zoo Association (GLAZA), which has supported the Zoo in partnership with the
City of Los Angeles for more than five decades and provides funding for and
operates seven essential Zoo departments, has 65,000 member households
representing more than 240,000 adults and children.  As evidence of the Zoo's popularity, GLAZA attracts
one of the largest membership bases of any cultural organization in Los
Angeles.  The Zoo's location in Griffith
Park at the junction of the Ventura (134) and Golden State (5) freeways ideally
positions it as a convenient destination enjoyed by locals and vacationers of
all ages who can visit every day of the year except Christmas Day.
