Free Foreclosure Prevention and Homebuyer Counseling Services Will Be Available To The Public
Potential new homebuyers and existing homeowners who are struggling to keep up with their mortgage payments will have access to FREE legal and housing counseling services. The Montebello Housing and Development Corporation and the California Housing Recovery Initiative are hosting the FREE one-day event.
Distressed homeowners, who are behind or underwater on their mortgage, will have access to advice from HUD-approved housing counselors, pro bono attorneys and participating bank representatives between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. An educational workshop will be held that offers first-time or repeat homebuyers information about how to prepare for homeownership, down payment assistance programs and homebuyer certification programs.
