Gallery Hours: Wednesday – Saturday 12pm – 5pm

On December 14, 2013, acclaimed artist, character designer, and animated television producer Dave Pressler will opening his first ever Xmas pop-up show with original works, prints, calendars and t-shirts, all curated by Coagula Curatorial’s legendary Mat Gleason at Red Pipe Gallery until January 4, 2014.

Opening Reception will be on Saturday, December 14, 2013.

From 2-5pm Red Pipe Gallery hosts a cool opening just for kids. It’s never too early to become a collector! Bring your kids and get lost in a Robot Winter Wonderland, immersing attendees in a fun day of music, games, balloons, and art from Nickelodeon’s Robot and Monster co-creator Dave Pressler.

Then 7pm – 11pm Opening reception for Dave Pressler’s “A Very Special Robot Christmas.” Known for his ironic understanding of the absurd and strange, Pressler brings it with new works and choice prints, and sculptures. Perfect gifts for the robot-lovers in your life!

Mat Gleason says, “I'm excited to curate this show as the built-in audience for Dave's work gives me a chance to put gallery-going on their 2014 to-do list. The robots are perfect because they have a foundation Pop art but are also really portraiture, really archetypes of various elements of the human condition. There is a reduction to the highest common denominator among us and in that they are more sophisticated than a lot of the copycat contemporary art being churned out by the local MFA diploma mills.”

Dave Pressler has a large and diverse body of work, ranging from paintings to vinyl collectible toys. The X-Mas Pop Up shop will be a treat for robot-lovers, art nerds and long- time Pressler fans, alike. Tis’ the season for robots!
