Looks like it's official now.
LAist has heard back from Whole Foods honchos, who confirm that the sign sighted Monday at 4400 Sunset Blvd announcing a location in Silver Lake is a hoax.
A few new locations are coming to Southern California, but the closest is probably the one planned for Newport Beach.
No word yet on who actually posted the sign, but it was tweeted around by Nick Thune Monday afternoon, setting off an eruption of hipster reax:
