Echo Park residents have been saddened by the recent removal of several ficus trees near the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Echo Park Avenue.
The trees were apparently removed by the city's Department of Street Services to allow for sidewalk repair and beautification under a federal grant.
Some say the clearance was done without permission and worry though that more of ficus forest is ready to fall.
