The Los Angeles Times says it's a sign that foodies are finally making their mark in Silver Lake.
Lazy Ox's Kevin Lee is in residency evenings now at Jason Michaud's original area outpost on Sunset Boulevard in Silver Lake.
According to the Times, the Korean-born Lee's menu is strong on pork, in a variety of forms.
Michaud, meantime, is keeping busy in Echo Park with and his downtown branch of Local.
Good thing we stopped by midday and caught Michaud and Lee in the above photo, conferring together.
They call their collaboration "Project Ivanhoe," invoking the name Silver Lake was called for a time.
Meantime, just down the street, Eric Park and partner Jonathan Kim have opened Black Hogg.
Park, who attended Pilgrim High School in the Rampart District, says he's mixing old-world standards with new world spices.
The creamy chicken livers laced with serrano chiles are one example. Roasted bone marrow with cilantro salad is another.
Black Hogg is at 2852 West Sunset Boulevard. Click here to see the website and menu.
Local is at 2943 West Sunset Blvd. Click here to see the website.
Red Hill is at 1325 Echo Park Avenue.
