Silver Lake Neighbors Ask 'Where Is James Franco?'

They say the actor is using the residence he bought last summer as a production house, bringing traffic and trash, but rarely himself.

 

There were high hopes when James Franco rolled into Silver Lake and bought a hillside duplex on the same street where Anais Nin once lived.

Word was he would redo the Spanish Colonial complex, and live there with his best friend and production partner Vince Jolivette.

Now comes an email from an anonymous neighbor, first published by CurbedLA. It quotes a Franco associate saying that, yes, maybe Franco isn't living there so much.

The neighbor's gripes include:

Large white production trucks and various other vehicles block our driveway and use it as a loading zone and block our street with such regularity that we have begun calling parking enforcement to have them ticketed; racks of costumes come and go; crowds of people constantly stream in and out of the house and have business meetings in front of OUR house and treat us as if we are eavesdropping sycophants when we walk out our gate to our car; and as I write this, they've set up hair and make-up in their driveway.

The email goes on to quote a Franco associate who confirms that production is the main activity at the house.

We stopped by Hidalgo Street Saturday and things looked relatively sleepy, though we noticed several female visitors on the stairway in early morning attire.

As you can see in the above photos, a racoon or other creature also may have spent some time in the trash in the open garage area.
