Questions Remain About Future of Former Barragan's Location

It's no mystery that the Sunset Boulevard location of Barragan's in Echo Park closed late last year, but details about what will become of the place are still somewhat foggy.

On Jan. 16, the state's Department of Alcohol Beverage Control issued a full alcohol license for a restaurant to Alan Moore of Potential, a bar and restaurant management company. The document states that HGCC Sunset Operations, LCC is doing business as something called the Lost Knight.

On Potential's website, there's a brief description of the Lost Knight as a British Pub.

But here's where things get a bit confusing: there's a Facebook invite out there for a photography exhibit on Jan. 31 at a place called 1538, which is apparently named after the address. That also happens to be the same address for the former Barragan's location. The flyer describes the event as part of 1538's grand opening.

Deadmundo Duran, one of the organizers for the roaming exhibit told Patch via e-mail that as far as he knew after speaking with the owners, 1538 was going to be the name of the new business.

Patch called Moore, but he would not comment at this time.
