The popular Silver Lake dance Club Los Globos will be back with live entertainment and dancing, starting Friday night.
The Los Angeles Police Commission's Permits Section granted Steve Edelson's two-story venue on Sunset Boulevard a live entertainment permit late Thursday afternoon.
LAPD closed down live music and dancing at the club last week just before Halloween, prompting the cancellation of many clubs, performances and parties.
Neighbors had complained about noise and urination by club goers.
Supporters noted that gang activity in the adjacent Vendome Street neighborhood below the historic Music Box Steps seemed to have dropped off since Edelson took over the club in 2011.
Fabian Bolanos, events coordinator at the club, told Patch in an email:
Our morale was never affected and we stayed positive considering [the process] could have taken 45 days. A lot of staff depends on our doors being open.
Management had rushed to open
The monthly Club Called Rhonda, which regularly attracts over 1,000 patrons, will reopen Los Globos Friday night.
