The whirlwind of dance clubs and live music that is Los Globos is on hiatus.
The new owners stopped all dancing and live music earlier this week while they apply for a live entertainment license.
According to one source, such licenses are not transferrable. So it's technically something that should have been done with the change in ownership a while back.
Why LAPD chose this past weekend to enforce the omission is not clear, but the process is expected to take 45 days.
In the meantime, management is putting a bigger emphasis on the bar and restaurant area on the club's first floor, La Esquina.
On Thursday night, the bar was serving sangria, beer and well drinks, including, a house specialty, the michelada, a kind of Mexican Bloody Mary.
A food menu is also available.
Private parties are also welcome. A Halloween party Wednesday attended by at least 75 cyclists was a good test run.
La Esquina is also looking to host community meetings in the many now dark rooms at 3040 Sunset Boulevard.
