Laundromat Won't House Video Game Parlor; District Council Office Moving In

The folks behind a plan to convert an old Echo Park laundromat into a video game parlor have decided to move elsewhere, meanwhile LA City Councilman Mitch O'Farrell is looking to scoop up the property and open a new district office, according to Eastsider LA.

The council office has already made a motion to move into the 4,000-square-foot space at 1722 W. Sunset Blvd., once known as the Laundromat on Sunset.

Council District 13 currently has a field office at 5500 Hollywood Blvd. that does not have onsite parking for staff or visitors as well as street level access for constituents.

"Council District 13 has identified suitable office space at 1722 W. Sunset Blvd that will provide street level access and convenient parking in a city-owned parking lot," O'Farrell's motion read.

A deal is being worked out with the landlord to ink a 5-year lease, according to the motion.
