Hotel de Ville Lifestyle Moving from Echo Park Avenue

The custom frame shop migrated from Los Feliz in May 2011.

"It's not Aaron Brothers, it's Premer Sisters," Casie Premer told us soon after Hotel de Ville Lifestyle opened in Echo Park in May of 2011.

And with her sister Dana, Premer had quite a good time growing her framing business in the former site of Echo Park Cycles.

The custom frame shop catered to celebrity and showbiz tastes and gained quite a following.

Dana said Thursday she still isn't sure quite where the sisters are going next.

But come Jan. 9, 2013, Hotel de Ville is moving on.

Premer says her business is very established now. She's not even sure it needs a retail space like the 1,000-square-foot one at 1932 Echo Park Avenue.

Hotel de Ville is one of a number of specialty retail stores that have closed recently in Echo Park.

The Warehouse, Feeding Birds and Delilah have also packed it in.

Merchants blame the ultra-hipness of the area that is driving rents higher, and driving some tenants out or, like Feeding Birds, to online only situations.

Premer says, unfortunately, she can't do business online. She says custom framing is a "high touch" endeavor.

Hotel del Ville Lifestyle is located at 1932 Echo Park Avenue in Echo Park.

It will be closed Dec. 25 through Jan. 2 for the holiday.

No word yet of a closing party like their grand opening, but we'll keep you posted about that as well as their new location.
